Bray Community Rallies Together: A Heartwarming Story of Two Blessing Boxes

A remarkable initiative has blossomed in the Bray community as locals unite to create two Blessing Boxes to support those in need. This inspiring journey kicked off when Shelby Edwards recognized the demand for a Blessing Box and reached out for assistance.

With the help of community members, Shelby connected with Daniel Hernandez, the owner of The Carpenter, LLC. The duo began brainstorming ways to construct a Blessing Box, although they were initially uncertain about the best locations to place them.

To ignite the project, a donation jar was set up at The Bray Store, and the community response was overwhelming. Shortly thereafter, Chad Fourhorn, the store manager, brought to light a need at Lakeside Connection Church. During a town council meeting, Bennie and June Whaley voiced that the Bray Community Center would also benefit immensely from a Blessing Box.

When Daniel reconvened to discuss the project’s dimensions and next steps, he was surprised to learn that the community was asking for not just one, but two boxes. In a show of generosity, Daniel offered to cover the entire cost of constructing both Blessing Boxes, allowing all donations to focus on stocking them for those in need.

What began as a simple idea quickly evolved into a strong community collaboration. Danny Fisher from Bray School graciously crafted the metal lettering, while Nikki Dunham, the pastor’s wife at Clear Creek Connection Church, prepared the vinyl lettering to enhance the boxes.

Upon gathering for a photo shoot, Pastor Clifford and Nikki Dunham shared exciting news: the Blessing Box at Clear Creek Connection Church was already serving many individuals, highlighting the positive impact of this initiative.

The sense of community shines brightly in Bray. The generosity and compassion displayed through this project exemplify the essence of this town, making everyone involved proud to be part of such a caring community.
