Bobby Loyd Mayes

Bobby Loyd Mayes passed away April 23, 2026, at his daughter’s home in McQueeney, Texas at the age of 82.

Bobby was born December 18, 1943, in Marlow, Oklahoma to Loyd Gipson Mayes & Susie Grace (Hinman) Mayes. He grew up in Marlow and attended Marlow High School and two years of college at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. He spent most of his life in Marlow and was a hard-working farmer. 

He married Judy Sue McCauley on June 11, 1965, in Marlow and had two daughters Kimberly Michelle (Mayes) Pillow and Shelli Dawn (Mayes) Lowe.

He is survived by his daughter Shelli Lowe and husband Corey of McQueeney, Tx; granddaughter, Sydney (Shannon) Dorman and husband Tommy of OKC; grandson, Garrett Shannon of Waco, TX; two sisters, Linda Fleegle of Marlow, Debbie Dixon and husband David of Marlow; two cousins, Joy Lee Sweat of Marlow, Louise Terry of Houston, TX; and 2 nephews and 1 niece. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Grace Mayes, sister Jaqueline Lucille Mayes, his wife Judy Mayes, and his daughter, Kim Pillow. 

He worked hard all his life, and he and his wife so enjoyed traveling to New Mexico and collecting turquoise jewelry, they also enjoyed gun shows. 

Memorial services will be held later in Marlow, Oklahoma.
