Marlow to Host Community Event for a Cause on May 31st
May 28, 2026
A significant event is set to take place in Marlow on Sunday, May 31, as Matt King embarks on his inspiring cycling journey through the town. King, known for his commitment to raising awareness for those who feel overlooked, will stop at Eddie Palmer Park after 3 PM as part of his initiative, the Ride.
The Ride is a remarkable 2,000-mile cycling journey from Mexico to Canada, aimed at shining a spotlight on individuals and communities often left unseen. This initiative is not just about cycling; it’s about community engagement and bringing attention to the stories of families and individuals living with develoWpmental disabilities, among others.
Sponsored by local nonprofit Grace and Mae, the event will feature a unique fundraising blitz ball game and a cornhole tournament. Attendees can look forward to an exciting day filled with activities, all while supporting a noble cause. Matt King will present a donation check to Grace and Mae, highlighting the impact of community generosity.
Grace and Mae is dedicated to fostering connections among parents of children with developmental disabilities, making their mission align perfectly with the goals of The Ride.
This mission isn’t powered by elite cyclists; it’s driven by commitment and the desire to make a difference. The goal is to show up for those who need support when it matters most, proving that when a community unites, incredible things can happen.
The event will also attract local news channels, ensuring that the stories of those affected by developmental disabilities receive the attention they deserve.
Join the movement of impact, courage, and responsibility. Together, we can help shine a light on the important issues within our community and support those who need it most.
A healthy Stephens County requires great community news.
