Central High to Host District, Regional Action
Central High will host the Class A District 8 tournament on Friday and Saturday and is a Regional host subsite for the following weekend.
The Class A and Class B championship series begin on Friday 11 and culminates at the State tournament on March 1 – 5.
District tournament play between Central High, Ringling, and Calumet heats up on Friday at 6:30pm when Central High will face Ringling; Calumet has a first-round bye.
The boys tip off at 8pm that night with the same match-up.
The winners will advance to the final round of districts on Saturday at 6:30 and 8pm. Both the tournament winner and runner-up advance to Regionals.
Central High will host Game 1 and 3 of Regional play on Thursday, February 17, after which the remainder of the regional action for the Bronchos will be held at Geronimo.
In Class B ball, the Bray-Doyle Donkeys head to Chattanooga on Friday for the District 7 battle against the home team, with Maysville drawing a bye in the first round. The girls will play at 6:30 and the boys at 8pm. The winners will face Maysville on Saturday at the same times.
District winners and runners-up will play at Chattanooga again for Regionals.
Tickets for district play can be purchased via the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association website, ossaa.com. A limited number of cash tickets are for sale at the door for $10 each.
