Marlow’s Swim Athletes grab Boys Relay Champion title at Altus meet

Marlow High School’s swim team has only five competitors, four boys and one girl, but they are waiting to hear from OSSAA on the status of a possible fifth member. It could be January before that ruling is made. The individual recently moved back to Marlow and if OSSAA approves, the team earns another competitor.

Meanwhile, the swimmers are working hard to earn medals. The Altus meet was a big win for the team.

“First meet we finally had enough healthy kids to have relays,” said Assistant Coach Kristen Terrell.

“Boys finished 2nd in 200 medley relay and beat a very fast Altus team in the 200 free relay by .3 seconds. So exciting,” Terrell said.

The Altus meet on Dec. 12 included Altus, Marlow, Duncan and Chickasha. Following are the results from that event. Also recently they competed at the Yukon meet which had 21 schools. Results are below, after the Altus results. The Review has also included the Duncan swim athletes results.

Altus

Event 2 Boys 200 SC Meter Medley Relay: Marlow’s team scored 2:08.78, 34 points; with Karsten Terrell, Luke Banks, Gage Davoult and Logan Woods. Davoult had the best individual time of the team, with 29.43 for his 50-lap portion.

Event 3 Girls 200 SC Meter Freestyle: Morgan Warren, 2:43.11, 17 points.

Event 8 Boys 50 SC Meter Freestyle: Logan Woods, 32.46, 12 points, 9th place.

Event 10 Boys 100 SC Meter Butterfly: Gage Davoult, 1:05.86, 20 points, 1st place; Karsten Terrell, 1:05.90, 17 points, 2nd place.

Event 11 Girls 100 SC Meter Freestyle: Morgan Warren, 1:14.71, 17 points, 2nd place.

Event 12 Boys 100 SC Meter Freestyle: Luke Banks, 1:05.42, 16 points, 3rd place; Logan Woods, 1:22.59, 7 points, 10th place.

Event 16 Boys 200 SC Meter Freestyle Relay: Karsten Terrell, Logan Woods, Luke Banks and Gage Davoult, 1:52.65, 40 points, 1st place. Davoult had the best individual time, 25.71.

Duncan swim competitors at the Altus meet:

Cody Ramsey, Caleb Ramsey, Aiden Locke and Korpez Taylor II, scored 28 points, in fifth place, with a total time of 2:25.99 at the Altus meet in Event 16, Boys 200 SC Meter Freestyle Relay.

In the Boys 200 SC Meter Freestyle: Cody Ramsey final time 2:39.30, 17 points, 2nd place; Isaac Pain, 2:52.20, 14 points, 5th place; Kelan Smith-Johnson, 3:22.28, 12 points, 8th place; and Andy McFarland, x3:26.51.

Girls 200 SC Meter IM: Anna Hutto, 3:46.86, 17 points, 2nd place.

Boys 200 SC Meter IM: Caleb Ramsey, 3:13.51, 13 points, 6th place.

Girls 50 SC Meter Freestyle: Rylee Branch, 34.10, 16 points, 3rd place; Maria Macias, 37.16, 14 points, 5th place; and Jill Swor, 39.57, 13 points, 6th place.

Girls 50 SC Meter Freestyle: Luxxus McReynolds and Delilah Ballard-Dorcely, both of Duncan, competed, no points.

Boys 50 SC Meter Freestyle: Asa Pollock, 29.45, 15 points, 5th place; Wyatt Brown, 37.05, 9 points, 13th place; Gabriel Spencer, 37.60, 7 points, 14th place; and Ethan Munoz and Dom Ragan, no points.
