Lady Outlaws earn Class 3A Regional Runners-Up title; headed for area tournament play in Ada Thursday

Marlow Lady Outlaws were the Class 3A/Area 3 Regional Runners-Up title at Kingston Saturday night in a 54-47 game against the Kingston Lady Redskins. The Lady Outlaws are ranked 12th in the state, and Kingston is ranked 8th.
The girls will play in the Area Championship tournament Thursday against 17th-ranked Roland Lady Rangers. Lady Outlaws has a 19-7 record against the opposing team which sits at 16-10. Tip-off time is 6 p.m. at the Ada High School Cougar Event Center in Ada.
Lady Outlaws Individual Scoring (Regionals) Whitney Wade – 12 points; Kently Davis – 14 points; Carson Lovett – 9 points; Erin Doughty – 6 points; Kendall Kizarr – 4 points; Allye Haile – 2 points.
Head Coach Brett Tahah has a positive attitude toward her Lady Outlaws as they prepare to take on Roland. “I believe that if we do the little things right and play together great things will happen this weekend at the area tournament,” she said. “Our toughness and ability to do the little things right are an advantage that we take pride in and do every time we step on the court.”
Tahah said the biggest challenge Thursday is playing three games in a row. “I am excited to see us rise to the challenge though!”
Reflecting back to the start of the season, Tahah had this to say, “I have seen team growth and individual growth throughout the season from everyone on the team. They work extremely hard and are incredibly coachable. This is the moment that we have been working towards and we are ready to play our best ball.”
The Lady Outlaws won 34-23, at home Thursday, Feb. 23, against the Dickson Lady Comets for the District Championship title. Comets were ranked 16th in the state.
