Heritage Center museum prepares to go live for students, guests

The education team at the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center will be going live from the museum next week with the first of Zoom meetings. Sharing content about the Chisholm Trail, the animals in the diorama, Jesse Chisholm and art, are among the live programs we will offer for guests of all ages.Parents and teachers are encouraged to help spread the word of this opportunity and watch Facebook for updates. Here’s a link to our promotional video about the upcoming Zoom meeting, https://www.facebook.com/onthechisholmtrail/videos/220089356072597/These live programs won’t be re-broadcast, so make sure to join our Zoom meetings every Wednesday at 3 p.m. The lessons will last about 20 minutes and attendees will be able to ask the presenters questions. Want to know about the gear a cowboy needs on the cattle drive? Join Edie Smith Stewart and Mary Lowry as they talk about riding the cattle trail more than 150 years ago. What about the animals indigenous to the Chisholm Trail? Go inside the diorama at the Heritage Center, where you can see and hear them (watch out for that hissing rattlesnake!). All of these programs are designed to be informative and fun for the entire family. Children and adults can hear the stories of some of our most popular “historical characters” like Jesse Chisholm, Kentucky Daisey, Johnnie Abernathy, Mrs. Will Rogers or Molly Bugbee.
